NOTE—Measure 19 in the Alto 1 and 2 recordings need a correction. Stay on the same note—F—for “round” and “the”. Do NOT drop down to a D on the word “the” which is a pattern that was established on p.2.

The Hooray for Hollywood recordings were made before these changes were made: 1) m. 3 and 5 should cut off after beat 3, with a quarter rest on beat 4, 2) m. 86-90 is a solo, 3) m. 128 and 132 cut off a beat early (like m. 3 and 5, but now we’re in cut time). Also, the Alto 1 part at the end, the last “Hollywood”, probably should end on the note C. I have a hand-written note in my music that we needed more altos so that’s probably why I sang the A flat - B flat - A.

On all three recordings of Sleigh Ride (below), there is an error in the “jingle, tingle” measure when sopranos sing “you” on a whole note (first measure on p.4). The alto line should have these notes: D, D, E, D. The recording mistakenly has D, E, D, E.
I made the following slowed down versions to help memorize the lyrics. The notes (pitches) aren’t that great, so please use the Alto on keyboard recording (above) if you’re working on notes.
Despite my lack of twang and the need to develop hillbilly style, I went ahead and made a recording of Grandma’s…. This was the best recording I could find on YouTube of this same arrangement. This recording is just to give you a gist of the piece—the background choir’s cutoffs are not precise and I have a few flubs, too. I edited measure 89 because the YouTube choir gets out of time to insert a spoken line. I don’t come right in on time, but I hope all of you can hear it (what I left out) in your heads because it’s the 4th time we sing that chorus.

I made the recording below to help me memorize the lines. It breaks the piece into sections. Each section is repeated 3-4 times. At the end, the whole piece is repeated twice.
The recording of We Wish You the Merriest, below, was made and posted on 2021.10.5. It has the rhythm changes Deeji made in September rehearsals.

Alto Part Recordings—made before Deeji’s stated changes on Wed., 5/19
The recording below has a minor blip near the very end. The two measures of rest, m.89-90, do not flow PERFECTLY into m.91. But it’s very close. Also, the section, “Do. You. Know. Who. …” should be whisper-sung.
The Feeling Good recording below (4.27.21) replaces a former one. This one has been edited so there is no alto part sung during solo lines in m.10-11 and pickup to m.52-57.
Use this Imagine recording below (Imagine. Alto part, no background choir) for a better example of the sung alto line. This is especially good model of the line, “living life in peace, yoohoo…”, with no break between “peace” and “yoohoo”.
Use this Imagine recording below (2021.3 Imagine from…) if you want to practice when we come in throughout the piece based on the other (often solo) parts.
Recordings 1 and 2: m35-57 first spoken, then sung. Just the alto line.
Note about recording 2: I found m.47-51 a little tricky so I preview it and then sing the first verse (from m. 35).
Recordings 3 and 4: m.87-115 first spoken, then sung. Just the alto line.
Recording 5: I recorded the Zoom rehearsal directly onto my laptop on Feb. 27. Everyone froze in measure 21 and I spliced the recording but the timing is a tiny bit irregular for a few measures.
In the Lean On Me recording below, there’s an error in measure 17. You’ll hear the same notes on “some” (end of m.16) and “day” (beginning of m.17). The note on “day” is a G. Please go down to the G when you sing.
