We’ll Meet Again Project
Dear Friends of the Firelighters,
Hello! We hope you are staying safe and healthy during these unusual times. As you may recall we had to postpone our annual fundraiser Road Trip earlier this year due to the pandemic. Many of you donated the cost of your tickets at that time and we thank you again for your generosity! We look forward to performing Road Trip for you at a later, safer time.
Over the past several months we Firelighters have been busy adapting to a new way of rehearsing music (over video conference!), a new way of performing (in our homes!), and a new way of living our mission at a time when the world needs love, healing, and music more than ever.
Our Firelighter spirit sparkles on, and we are excited to announce what’s next...
First up is the “We’ll Meet Again” Project. From June 13th to June 20th we will be holding a Virtual Pledge Drive to support our group's ongoing operations combined with Special Outreach to residents of ten nearby senior living communities. Our fundraising goal is $50,000 and we will accept one-time or monthly pledges on our GoFundMe Charity site. You can even make your donation go further through corporate matching since NWFC is a registered 501(c)(3)!
In addition to creating customized outreach videos for our senior communities living in quarantine, we have been busy learning the beautiful Chinese folk song Mo Li Hua (“Jasmine Flower”) for an upcoming video we will share with the Chinese community locally and abroad as an expression of our loving support.
Soon we will begin rehearsals for a virtual holiday concert in December! We will invite our wonderful audiences to come out for a night of fun and festive music. You’ll be on the edge of your seat, we’ll be singing our hearts out on the big screen (while decked out in our signature sparkles, of course). And in Spring 2021 we’ll do it all again with a concert of world music that unifies us all in love!
Finally, we are thrilled to announce that NWFC will be using this time to work on something we’ve long dreamed about: producing an album! Or two! This summer our hope is to begin work on our first professional album of holiday music, followed by an album of world music in the spring.
In this uncertain time, we could all use some moments of uplift. Your donations make it possible for us to pursue these projects and to continue bringing music and joy to the world.
